Books, books everywhere!

copyright 2009 That Patchwork Place
I received news that my quilt “Fruit Basket” was going to be included in the 2009 edition of “That Patchwork Place Quilt Collection”.
Mag Review
I got an e-mail from my publisher, Martingale & Co.
, informing me that me book was review in the April/May issue of Quilter’s Home magazine! It was actually a good review, too! (Knock me over with a feather.) The magazine is in stores, but isn’t on the web site yet.
Mark Lipinski, the author of the magazine, is quite well known in the quilting world, so I feel honored!
More Fame!
I got an e-mail from Martingale & Co., my publisher, and they want to use my quilt
Fruit Basket for their 4th annual That Patchwork Place Quilt Collection! I don’t know if anyone’s buying my book, but at least the publisher seems to like my work! Stay tuned for more information.
Field Trip!
My friend Mary came down from Logan and Jeannie & Jerrie joined us on a field trip! A field trip for quilters is really a trip to quilt stores to spend money and touch pretty fabric

Every Blooming Thing
. How fun is that? I took my book and left a flyer at each store if they want to host a “trunk show.” A trunk show is a group of quilts from one quilter.
The only taker I had was at Quilts, Etc. in Sandy (ish). I took 3 quilts down, and they’ll be hanging for about a month. They were excited to have a trunk show, which made me excited! I’ll be doing a national trunk show starting sometime this spring.
Kitty Jail
My daughter decided that Daisy T. Cat (the T stands for “The”) needed to go to kitty jail, because she scratched her when she wouldn’t put her down. So, she got an old paper box and went to work.

Then she put the kitty in the kitty jail, but kitty could easily pop the top off the jail, so she put a book on top.

Kitty soon found an escape route. (Think Alcatraz!)
And don’t they both look happy? Kitty’s really thinking, “I hate you, ogre! Leave me alone!” Aw, kitty. That’s not very nice!
Something New!
Welcome to my new blog! My husband, Neil, introduced me to wordpress, and its way groovy! I’m still experimenting, so be patient, and hopefully I’ll figure out some things. If you subscribe to my blogspot blog, please change it to this one, as it will be my main blog. Try rolling over my links, its very cool!
Cheryl Lou Who!
I finally got my tooth implant on Monday (over a year after my accident), and the dentist also did a tissue graft. So now the whole upper lip and right side of my face is swollen. Yes, I look like a Who down in Whoville. Or, Tonks in Harry Potter movie 5 when she makes her mouth look like a duck bill. Its lovely. But you’ll have to trust me on this, because I’m not posting a picture! Not something for posterity’s sake. I also have lovely shades of purple by my mouth and under the right eye.
This was by far the most painful procedure I’ve had done so far. Hopefully ever! Too bad it didn’t happen at Christmas time, so I could really look the part!
Sign Off!
Ah, the lovely sounds of silence! Yes, the children are back at school, and Neil’s back at work. Its just kitty and me at home.
I’m having a book signing on Saturday, January 10, 2009 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Quilter’s Haven in Bountiful. This is actually the first “event” I’ve had since my book release, so I’m excited and nervous. What if no one comes? You gotta love insecurity!
Its Real!
I got 2 boxes full of my books yesterday. So, I guess they’re real! I haven’t actually seen one on a quilt store shelf yet, but that’s the next reality check.
I’m having a book signing “meet and greet” event on January 10 at Quilter’s Haven. I’m rather excited, actually! (Unless no one shows up. Oh, great. Now I’ve got something else to worry about!)
They were printed in China, which I found quite amusing! They’ve already been a long way!
The last of my “babies” (quilts) were also sent back to me from Martingale. I’ve missed them! They’ve been gone over a year! I was happy to see them again.
Check this out, too. My book is on the newly released page of Martingale.
No Fanfare?
Yesterday was the official release date of my book! Wait… what? No fanfare? In fact, it felt pretty much like any other day. Huh… I guess I’ll go do the dishes.
